Queens University Belfast Physical Education Centre

The recently completed extension to the QUB PEC is a striking building, notable for it’s opalescent roof and circular plan.

In keeping with the leading edge architecture, Beattie Flanigan Consulting Engineers made extensive use of iGuzzini luminaires throughout the building, as much for their dramatic appearance as for their excellent performance.

The climbing wall was a particularly challenging task, as it is important for safety to ensure that glare is minimised in all directions. The lighting was actually integrated into the central bridge at FF level.
